Children's Rights Resources

What is the UNCRC? What is an article?

The UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) is a special agreement between countries that promises to protect the rights of all children and young people. These rights make sure every child can be safe, healthy, learn, have a say, and be treated fairly.

The articles are like chapters in this agreement — each one explains a different right. Check out some examples below!

Article 8:  Preservation of Identity

You have the right to your own identity – an official record of who you are. This includes your name, nationality and family relations. No one should take this away from you, but if this happens, governments must help to quickly get your identity back.
